It’s easy to forget that, for a brief, delusional moment in 2021, the overlords of OnlyFans threatened to turn their back on the sex workers who built the platform by announcing a short-lived ban on adult content.

The subscription site’s marketing team had spent the previous year pushing an influx of SFW creators and even developing a SFW app. In what seemed like a bid to clean up its distinctly horny reputation, OnlyFans’ social media channels were filled with splashy highlight videos, announcing the arrival of musicians, pro wrestlers and comedians.

Amongst these mostly SFW creators were a handful of fortune tellers, tarot readers and mystics, as detailed in a 2021 Dazed article. They cited censorship on other sites as the reason for their migration, as well as the exorbitant commission rates charged by psychic hotlines.

Two of the three creators featured in Dazed still have active profiles on the site, but many others have mysteriously vanished. A psychic named Chris Riley caused a brief splash in November 2020, announcing himself as the first “celebrity psychic” on the site. At the time of writing, though, his profile is dead and buried.

In March 2021, the official OnlyFans YouTube posted a video featuring tarot reader Raven Lani, who promised in-depth readings, as well as how-to lessons. Again, Lani’s profile is now nowhere to be found.

Rissa Vibes — also known as the Conscious Creatrix — waxed lyrical about the site, describing it to Dazed as a “space to provide uncensored esoteric understanding that is unique, diverse and can even be considered controversial at the time,” but her time on OnlyFans proved relatively fleeting. “Bliss everyone…,” she wrote in January 2022, around a year after her first post. “I’ve [been] thinking of deleting my OnlyFans page. It’s just not feeling aligned to my spirit any more, and though I have a lot of plans for it, I’m seeing that the energy might not be guiding me to stick with this platform of choice.” The same was seemingly true of TheArtisanTarot, who hasn’t posted to the site in over a year.

Despite viral headlines announcing some famous names making millions on the site, the reality for most creators is quite different; an average annual income is around $1,300 per year, or $108 per month. The platform saw a surge of new users as the world locked down in 2020, and most of them are probably reminiscent of your most vanilla friends who joke that they might start selling feet pics when rent money dries up. The behind-the-scenes labor of sex work — building a fanbase, shooting content, messaging fans, getting camera-ready — is often seriously devalued, leading to the widespread feeling that starting an OnlyFans is easy work.

That said, there is still a niche for fortune tellers and mystics on OnlyFans — admittedly, a very small one. A pretty prolific user is Tyler Tarot, who promises “eight extra [tarot] reads a month” for his followers. He boasts nearly 300 videos and 100,000 likes, proving that SFW tarot readers can make bank on the site with the right strategy. If Tyler’s YouTube presence is anything to go by, you can expect videos on using tarot to help find your “future boo thang.” There’s no indication of naked photos or explicit videos, but it’s possible that the readings get hornier behind a paywall. If not, it seems he’s one of the very few SFW creators to have cracked the OnlyFans code.

Then, there’s the Tantric Healer, whose X bio says he helps “straight, curious, bi and gay men to connect to the true self” — and judging from his teaser clips, this almost always means making them cum. Expect to see guys getting their taints stroked with metal rollers and what looks like tiny paint brushes, as well as collaborations with other NSFW creators. Although not strictly a fortune teller or tarot reader, subscribers to his page can expect everything from “tantric edging” (self-explanatory) to “breath work,” “sacred grounding” and “shadow work,” all for the low rate of $6.99 per month.

Profiles like these, which fuse sex and spirituality, offer a glimpse into what a full-time NSFW takeover of fortune tellers and mystics on OnlyFans could look like in practice. Of course, this takeover hasn’t happened, and although OnlyFans continues to host and promote SFW creators, many of the earliest advertised creators seem to have abandoned their accounts.

And so, anyone hoping to catch topless tarot, erotic fortune telling and horny psychic hotlines on the site will be disappointed. The brief, pandemic-fueled promise of titties and tarot has disappeared into a puff of smoke.
