21 Photos Inside the Battle of The Chosin Reservoir During the Korean War

The battle of the Chosin Reservoir was one of the most brutal, frost-bitten standoffs of the Korean War.

By 1950, China entered the Korean War in an effort to repel the U.N. forces from North Korea. From November to December, U.S. Marines and their allies were surrounded by forces from the People’s Volunteer Army of China. For those two months, both sides endured freezing temperatures, frostbite, and snow filled trenches in an icy, mountainous terrain. Eventually, the encircled U.N. troops managed to break through and retreat.

Experience the brutal, frozen warfare fought by those who would later be called the “Chosin Few”.
