Woman Says Her Husband Has Lost His Mind Thanks to ChatGPT: 'He Thinks He's Unlocked the Secrets of the Universe'
Is this man the next Messiah? I wouldn't bet on it.
Reddit user Zestyclementinejuice recently posted on r/ChatgPT seeking advice after her partner began showing symptoms of psychosis due to his extensive ChatGPT usage.
In her post, she writes, "My partner has been working with chatgpt CHATS to create what he believes is the worlds first truly recursive ai that gives him the answers to the universe." She goes on to explain that he believes he is now a "superior human," and that if she doesn't read his "chats," he'll have no choice but to leave her.
While research on the mental impacts of A.I. chatbots on humans is still relatively new, OpenAI, in a study on these impacts, concluded that people with heavy usage of A.I. showed "increased loneliness, emotional dependence, and reduced social interaction," according to Platformer.
Thankfully, the fine people of r/ChatGPT spotted a man with mental health issues and not a man with all the secrets to the universe because Zestyclementinejuice, later made a follow-up post confirming she had reached out to his family in hopes of getting him the treatment he so clearly needs.
Another win for the "my wife is always right" guys.
