The currency might not be traceable, but you are!

The development of cryptocurrency has made people realize that basically all of its promises — fast, efficient and anonymous money transfers, for example — are complete bullshit. Even the most minor fuck-up in OPSEC can lead to people pistol-whipping you for your crypto, and if you’re lucky enough to actually be able to use the cryptocurrency as, you know, currency, you can look forward to long waits and hefty fees. This is definitely better than just swiping a card!

Speaking of OPSEC, holders of large amounts of crypto (and their family members) are at continual risk of attacks. For example, yesterday, a gang of masked attackers tried to kidnap the daughter of a crypto businessman. Thankfully, they failed, but the fact that these attacks are on the rise is another sign that *maybe* we should just be done with crypto at this point.
