Egg-Shaped Man Begs A.I. to Let Him Keep His Job

A.I. will take everyone’s job. Except mine, of course.

The tech world keeps talking about A.I. as though it’s the thing that will destroy humanity. That isn’t stopping them from continuing to build it, of course — no, no, no, they’ll just tell you that A.I. is a mix of the God and Devil, and that it’s in your best interest to give your life to it lest you become its enemy.

But as A.I. get incorporated into more industries, many people are wondering just how many jobs will be disrupted by the technology. But Venture Capital investor Marc Andreessen isn’t worried. In fact, according to him (a man who has a shitton of money tied into A.I. technology), work at a venture capital firm will be one of the last things to be taken over by the robots because it involves so much art, craft and psychology.

You know, unlike the fields of art, craftsmanship and psychology. Also, I’m confused: The world is run by A.I., but we still have companies that need venture capital? We still have companies at all?! Who the hell is working?!?

Naturally, it’s easy to watch this and come to the conclusion that Andreessen is just being a dumbass. However, we like to take a different angle — *we* all know that his job is mostly bullshit, but what about the A.I.? This isn’t him telling us that he’s important; it’s Andreessen begging the basilisk not to kill him when the robot revolution comes!

Well, good luck with that, I guess.
