Is Amazon Editing Movies to Prevent Another Luigi Mangione?

And if so, why are they starting with 2010’s Robin Hood?

Recently, there’s been a conspiracy theory going around X/Twitter that Amazon is editing movies to prevent radical ideas from creeping into people’s minds. The one, solitary piece of evidence? The intro crawl from 2010’s Robin Hood is missing.

Oh, no!

Apparently, in the original version, there’s a text that reads, “In times of tyranny and injustice when law oppresses the people, the outlaw takes his place in history.” However, if you pulled up the movie last week, all you saw is a blank page. Ooooo — spooky, right?

Eh, probably not. If they were going to start censoring content that pits the poor masses against the rich elite, we probably would have realized it sooner than the moment someone tried to watch a film with a 43 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Instead, this is likely just Amazon fucking up and accidentally delivering everyone the international version, the text of which is supposed to be replaced in the local language. In fact, it appears they’ve already remedied this issue, and the movie is back to normal.

Or is that just what they want us to think?!?!
