What, in all seriousness, did he think was going to happen?

Did you know that you can turn in scrap metal for money? If not, then you probably haven’t lived in a major city — around the world, people will collect all sorts of scrap metals in order to flip them around for a quick buck.

This is why you occasionally see dudes carrying big bags of wire or, if you’re in a developing country, hear trucks driving through neighborhoods yelling out their windows asking anyone if they have some sheet metal to spare. Not sure how effective this is, but I respect the effort!

In the case below, it appears that a man saw a dead length of cable above him and decided to steal it. However, he didn’t think about the fact that standing on the cable makes it really, really difficult to steal it.
