Strike, he’s out!
One may think that a cup is a standard part of the baseball uniform. In reality, however, it’s estimated that only about a quarter of players actually wear cups — leaving the remaining 75 percent open and vulnerable to unexpected nut taps.
And folks, today, we have a great one to share. In a recent game, Miami Marlins first baseman Matt Mervis misjudged a throw and, as a result, took a baseball right in the family jewels. He managed to stay in the game afterwards, but I think it’s fair to say he won’t be playing with a full pack for a little while.
