Remembering the Guy Who Spent $1,500 to Make a Shitty Chicken Sandwich Completely From Scratch
This is what “returning to tradition” really looks like.
Given how convenient modern life is, it’s easy to become alienated from the labor that goes into producing everyday goods. For example, do you know where your shirt was made? Do you know *how* it was made? Could you take a guess at the age of the person who made your shirt? It’s probably younger than you’re comfortable with!
One guy saw this and decided that he was going to figure out the true work that goes into a classic American staple: a chicken sandwich. Accordingly, he, per the video description, “spent six months and $1,500 to make a sandwich completely from scratch, including growing my own vegetables, making my own salt from ocean water, milking a cow to make cheese, grinding my own flour from wheat, collecting my own honey and killing a chicken myself.”
How was it, you ask? Well, it was fine. That’s it. Probably not worth the $1,500!
