You couldn’t at least turn the lights down?
Anyone can be a DJ, say a lot of people who aren’t DJs. In truth, while doing some basic DJ tricks is easy enough, actually having the skill to read and command a crowd with your mixing ability takes a bit of practice. That’s why you can’t just ring up any old festival, tell them you have a killer playlist, then get a gig out of it.
Instead, festivals will usually book DJs by looking at their previous shows and mixes. However, occasionally, they’ll do something like this: ask them to DJ for a panel of judges in what appears to be a Marriott conference room.
And yes, the vibes are exactly as bad as they sound.
