A real “unstoppable force, immovable object” situation.
Sumo never really made a big splash here culturally, but we’re all aware of the general concept. In short, it’s a big Japanese dude going one-on-one against another big Japanese dude to see who can knock the other down or get them out of the ring. Of course, there are exceptions to this idea — there was that skinny Czech sumo wrestler who did alright for himself — but in general, that’s how it goes.
Seeing this, one might notice a parallel between Sumo and the sports we have in the States. Big dude whose job is to not be knocked down? Hell, that’s just a linebacker!
HBO noticed this too, and so they pitted the two against each other. Here’s how it went.
