The tanker’s ethanol ignited on the freeway — and that was only the beginning of the problems.

Over the weekend, there was a terrible accident in Brazil in which a tanker carrying a massive amount of ethanol suddenly flipped and poured its contents all over the freeway. It’s unclear what caused the tanker to flip or what exactly caused the ethanol to ignite (maybe the driver was trying to charge his Samsung Galaxy S8), but no matter the reason, it happened, and soon, the whole freeway was covered in lit fuel.

While some drivers sustained injuries, there were no deaths reported, and cleanup crews are still working to fully resolve the issue. But if you’re a tanker driver, please, do us all a favor and make sure your vehicle stays upright.
