As a child, I was always told that you shouldn’t put metal in the microwave because it can explode. Naturally, I didn’t do it, as I didn’t want to burn the house down. But I always *wanted* to — and I feel like many others can relate.

While I still haven’t put anything metal in the microwave, some people on the internet have. Not only that, but they’ve put all sorts of other stuff in the microwave, too. Markers, grapes, fluorescent light bulbs — you name it, it’s been zapped, sometimes with explosive consequences.
